What is the X-out Board?

An X-out board refers to a PCB within a panel that does not meet quality standards. These boards may have damaged traces or other unavoidable defects that occur during production. To clearly identify them, PCBfast marks all X-out boards with obvious symbols or signs for easy distinction.

In our quotation page, PCBfast provides two options to ensure you receive the required quantity of qualified boards:

Option 1 – Accept X-out Option:

We will reproduce the same quantity of defective boards found in the panels and ship them together with the original panels.
For example, if you order 5 panels with 20 boards each, but 3 boards are defective, you will finally receive 6 panels (some panels may contain X-out boards).

Option 2 – Reject X-out Allowance Option:

All boards within the panels are fully qualified, and no defective boards are included. This option is relatively more expensive compared with the “Accept X-out” option.

PCBfast has effectively maintained the defective board rate within a very low and acceptable range during panel PCB manufacturing. Therefore, we recommend choosing the Accept X-out option, ensuring you receive all qualified boards quickly and at a fair price.
