Why Are the Pads Not Covered by Solder Mask as Shown in the Gerber Files?

The reason is that your Gerber files include GPT/GPB layers, which indicate the areas as pads with solder mask openings. Our engineering team interpreted these layers as intentional solder mask openings and therefore followed the GPT/GPB data during production.

 

To avoid such misunderstandings in future orders, PCBfast recommends not including GPT/GPB layers in your Gerber files, unless they are clearly required for your design.
